Bite-sized tidbits about the weather

About

Five-Minute Meteorology is a blog where I share short posts summarizing key concepts that I cover in my atmospheric science courses. I try to limit the posts to 3-6 paragraphs that can be read in about five minutes or less, and I try to keep the content engaging. This site is intended to be a resource for my students and for anyone who happens to find it.

About the author: Dr. Steve Jessup is an assistant professor of meteorology in the Earth and Space Sciences Department at Columbus State University in Columbus, Georgia, USA. He holds three degrees from Cornell University. Prior to his current employment, he worked at both Princeton University and Cornell University. He taught at SUNY Brockport in Western New York for several years before arriving at CSU in August, 2021.
